Owner/ Precision Designer/ Gardener/ Antique Collector
After being in the business twenty something years, Carla decided to branch out on her own. “It was a dream of mine to create a salon/spa in an elegant, cozy environment. I was able to combine my other hobbies, renovating houses, interior design, collecting antiques, and wa-la! Chestnut Hill was born!”
Carla purchased the McGill House that was built circa 1885, which depicted her design theme for the salon. It was her dream that clients not step into a “typical salon atmosphere.” She says, “I want the them to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, feel like they are welcomed into our ‘home,’ and allow themselves to slow down for a bit. I want them to enjoy a cup of tea while receiving impeccable service!”
Carla has been a stylist for over thirty years. Her expertise in precision cutting with attention to detail has earned her a dedicated and loyal clientele. “I feel that it is very important to listen to my clients’ needs. Giving them a style or color that makes them feel beautiful and that is easy to manage is my goal.”
At this point in Carla’s career, it gives her great pleasure to mentor younger stylists that are just starting their career. Whether its teaching a technical skill to improve their craft or empowering them in other ways, Carla leads by example. “Showing that giving your guest your undivided attention and care is what makes our profession so special.
Carla’s favorite things are watching the sunrise, a fresh brewed cup of coffee, fresh cut flowers. When she is not at the salon, she loves to cook, garden, meditate, and go to pilates. “ALL of my hobbies help keep me sane!!”
